Afghanistan Humanitarian Crisis and Response
In 2021, events leading up to the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul in August exacerbated displacement throughout the country. For the 15th consecutive year in a row, internal displacement in Afghanistan increased with an additional 777,400 Afghans displaced across all provinces.
In response to the Afghanistan humanitarian crisis, USA for UNHCR mobilized an integrated multi-channel campaign that generated more than $8 million, including financial resources from more than 25 new, existing and lapsed private sector partners, including the Coca-Cola Foundation, Facebook, Baker McKenzie and Google.
